This vehicle is powered by as 12 hp 2.12 litre four cylinder Knight sleeve-valve engine. All the bright work is brass with the Mors logo cast into various items including the pedals and the bonnet handles. This vehicle is believed to have originally been used on a station in outback South Australia after which is spent time in Adelaide and Albury before coming to Shepparton. It is used regularly and is a reliable rally vehicle which cruises at about 70kph. Emile Mors was a leading French electrical engineer who experimented with producing steam cars in the late 1880’s. After building about 8 steam cars he began constructing light petrol powered railway trolleys then in 1895 began production of cars and was selling around 200 per year at the turn of the century. Mors held the land speed record in 1902 – 03 reaching 77.13 (124 km) for a flying kilometer. After the first world war Mors vehicle production was irregular then after 1925 they only made components until the 1950’s when they made a range of cheap electric scooters called Mors-Speed.
